Background:
Far-UVC light in the range between 207 - 222 nm has been evidenced to be safe for use around humans and efficiently kill pathogens such as Coronavirus or MERSA. 222nm light cannot penetrate even the outermost (non-living) layers of human skin or eye; however, because bacteria and viruses are of micrometer or smaller dimensions, 222nm far-UVC has been shown to penetrate and inactivate the pathogens.
